In 2009 Skand Dinesh Vohra missed a place in Mumbai Ranji Trophy team despite being in Ranji probables that year. Skand was born in Mumbai and had very early part of his education from Hiranandani Foundation School, Powai, and completed his schooling in 2003 from S. M. Shetty School, Powai. He completed his HSC and Graduation from Bhavan’s College, Andheri.

All along Skand had great interest in cricket and from the age of 13, he was under good guidance from various cricket coaches. Since he was blessed with good height (6 feet 4 inches), he was a perfect bet for being a fast bowler. In early years he trained hard as a fast bowler and did well in club cricket in Mumbai. He got a big break in year 2008 when he was selected by MRF Pace Foundation, Chennai to be trained under legendary Australian fast bowling Coach Dennis Lillie. It was dream for any pace bowler to be trained at MRF pace Foundation. The fact is that most of fast bowlers who represented Ranji Trophy teams or India got trained at MRF Pace Foundation. Skand had 3 stints in MRF Pace Foundation which is very rare for any fast bowler. Skand used to clock good pace of 130-135 KM. He was considered as big fast bowling prospect for Mumbai at that time but somehow the main selection always eluded him despite being a Ranji probable.

He kept playing in club level cricket in Mumbai without losing heart. When he did not get a chance in Ranji Trophy, he shifted to Australia Melbourne in 2016. During practice in Melbourne, he was noticed by a few coaches. Skand was instantly picked up by a top level cricket team in Melbourne and in 2017 League he did very well for Leverton Cricket Club, Melbourne and got his name featured in various newspapers due to his good performance.

In year 2018 Skand got picked up by a top team of Melbourne Coberg Cricket Club to play in 1st eleven (Victoria Cricket League) which had one Australian National team player and four Sheffield Shield Players. It was a huge boost for Skand to be picked up and play in 1st Eleven with cricket greats. In his very first match in October 2018, he picked up 2 wickets in one over. His name got featured in prominent papers like Herald Sun for his brilliant bowling. He will be playing more than 10 matches for 1st eleven of reputed Coberg Club team this season. My Powai wishes Skand all the very best for his cricket career.
