RCCM + Nirvana Group = Dhoom Macha De

Wise men have said that, if in a lifetime, an individual can positively touch even a single soul with their actions, it is a life well spend. Understanding this truth, Nirvana Musical Group responded positively when approached by Rotary Club of Chandivali Mumbai (RCCM) to join hands and be part of a fund-raising event for the education of under privileged school kids in the outskirts of Vasai.

The brilliant thought was put in to action by RCCM Charter President, Sanjay Rohida, who is also the founder of Nirvana by conceptualizing a musical show named “Dhoom Macha De”. His vision fully backed by RCCM team, whose faith in the group was strengthened by their previous outing, the very well received show at Yeravada jail.
With the thought of putting up a bigger show, prestigious Dinananath Mangeshkar Auditorium was zeroed in as the venue and celebrity singers Rajessh Iyer and Manjeera Ganguly were brought in to add the star quotient. The evening of “Dhoom Macha De“ was set in to motion, and did they ‘Machao Dhooom’? YES, and in style.

The stage was set on fire by Nirvana singers Sanjay Rohida, Anupama Gupta, Kunal Kaushal, Vinita Sawant, Arti Gadgil and Jayesh Sawant before playback singer Manjeera Ganguly came to occupy it. When she left the stage, audience was gasping at her versatility and ease with which she delivered slow numbers and moved on to Asha Bhosale’s all-time hit numbers. With Rajessh Iyer’s power packed entry the golden numbers of Kishore da started flowing in his magical voice. The audience were treated to Jhumroo, Mein Hoon Don, Raju Chal Raju and many more. He brilliantly presented Kishore in all moods. The atmosphere was electrifying when the two guests presented duets. Padmanabhan Sundaresan from Rotary Dist. 3142 added flavor with his rendition of Duniya Mein logon ko and RCCM member, Vijay Narayan, crooned like a pro, the soulful Rim Jhim Gire.

Jayesh Sawant’s Zingat was a treat to the eyes and ears. His impeccable delivery coupled with energetic dance was a sight to behold. Rajitha Khan held the  proceedings together for the evening with her captivating anchoring.

Mr. Rajendra, representative from the beneficiary school, thanked RCCM and its members for their kind hearted support for the school. He reiterated the needs of the school and pleaded all to come forward and help the Cause. In a bid to support the school, RCCM declared to host few more fund raiser shows in the time to come. The collection from this show will be attributed for supplying raincoats to student and taking care of repairs of the school premises.

Senior Rotarians Dist Gov. Prafull Sharma stressed upon the need to support weaker sections of the Society and complimented RCCM Team for putting up this wonderful show. AG Kishore Parekh, AGE Dollar Shah, DGN Sunil Mehra and Rotarians from all over Mumbai along with yesteryear film actor Birbal and many promoters, organisors attended the show.

Nirvana team is again performing on the 14th July at Lake Homes Club House Banquet Hall. Entry Free.
