It is a well-known fact that Panch Smruti goes that extra mile to do things differently, and with full enthusiasm. The evening of 1 May found the premises, along with its residents and guests, turned into Hawaii. The young and the old, the kids and the staff, even the guests, all dressed in cool Hawaiian attires, with colorful floral wreaths around their heads, in their wrists, and also around the waists
The program started with the Hon’able Secretary Mr Indranil Chatterjee welcoming the residents and the guests. He gave a brief overview of the achievements during the past year and the targets for the coming year. Dance performance to the popular Bollywood songs enthralled everyone. There were games, an amazing fire show, and mimicry. A short film was presented, which took the residents down the memory lane, back to 2008. The experience was magical. In the end, everyone gathered for cake cutting amidst the fireworks, when the sky was covered with breathtaking beautiful colored patterns. The audience were glued to this piece of spectacular artwork, all eyes glued to a spot high up in the sky.
Everyone, in the true Hawaiian spirit, flocked to the stage where they danced to their heart’s content. After a sumptuous meal, there was only one thought in everyone’s mind: If this is how we celebrated the ninth year, what would the tenth birthday be like!!
