PowaiSharadotsav2014, organized by Spandan Foundation is going on in full swing at the Puja Grounds of Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, opposite Café Mangii and Fab India. The festival started from 29th September and will conclude on 4th October 2014. In their 2nd year, Spandan Foundation is known for putting together a Festival With A Purpose. Last year, they touched your hearts with the theme DuggaAmar – Empowering Women. This year, they have pledged allegiance to the cause of the Youth in our country. Statistics say that every third person in an Indian city today is a youth; that India is on its way to becoming the youngest country by 2020. A huge opportunity, if channelized well, these youngsters can bring in sweeping transformation that our country needs so badly. PowaiSharadotsav 2014, is therefore, for Yuva Shakti – Nava Shirshti this year.
This Yuva Power is being showcased in various ways – through a youthful and dynamic statue of Goddess Durga, a vibrant and colourful Mandir, and matching overall décor of the grounds, cultural events (AkritiKakkar music performance on 2nd Oct and Rock-band Cactus performing on the evening of 3rd) and social initiatives, such as SpandanFor Kashmir. With the Spandan for Kashmir Initiative, Spandan Foundation sent across a truck load of relief materials to Goonj for the Rahat Floods Campaign for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims.
SPANDAN Foundation is a vibrant socio-cultural organization carved out of creative zeal and driven by philanthropic mission. Although still very young, the group have left their mark in the cultural and social landscape of Mumbai with Mumbai Book Fair 2013, PowaiSharadotsav 2013 (Acknowledged for Excellent Management, Safety, Discipline and for encouraging Nation Integration by Mumbai Police & Awarded the “The Most Exciting” Puja/ Navaratri celebration in Powai& surrounding areas by Powai Police Station) and multiple socio-cultural activities over the current calendar year.
